The Calling 11:48
(Overture) Journeys sewn With roads unknown Wondrous life is born at night Souls search dark seeking light Souls search through the dark to find Light and hope and truth for you Every joy born anew No primrose path to utopia Only tabula rasa Tam altius magnus attollo Time is found as sacred ground Heard are whispers shared Deep within life begins All the wonders of every moment Come alive, Come alive Wonders of each moment Come alive, Come alive A mirror momenti va A mirandus momenti Veni vivus va Restless child I make for you A destined odyssey of wonder Blessed jubilation calling Beckoning a revelation Will triumphant sacred walk Humble passage to surrender all Lassus viatoris Amplior praemi Clusi mansionis Requietus nunc Sedis so grata (Main Song) Love and faith And songs we make Don’t always say What hearts can pray But once in time Our souls may find A moment’s fleeting path To follow Home Love as life Goes on in spite Of unimagined Sorrow shouldered Heroes tall From mountains fall To Earth to dust Uniting us as one Glory lay In ash that day Tonight she flies In Yankee skies Tattered oh ever strong Woven so to will resolve Quilted land sewn with hands So steadfast so firm to grasp Onto life Copyright © 2001, 2008 Jon Charles Fortman (ASCAP) and Kite Creature Music (ASCAP) Copyright © 2006 Tom McDermott

Found a prairie flower When Cowboys ruled the world Still we had to wonder Do roses bloom in Baltimore? Then soldiers came to carry you Donned in gold and blue Oh how brief it took me to Believe that (chorus) In the garden of my heart Someone planted love and beauty Tilled my soul from dawn to dark With her Winecup seed All the strength of Austin stone And the grace to make her own home Harbor for a wounded warrior In a Lone Star Fall (verse 2) Saw you march on Georgia Proud as Billy T. Who’d have thought Savannah Could fall again so easily? So meet me on a Thistle Hill And vow you never will Be without the blossom smile That’s sown deep (repeat chorus) (break 1) A ring a wreath a vow for life Stand with me and be my wife We will survive the days And live to sip our Montrachet (verse 3) Soon our bouquet grows by one As a girl or son Now we know petals will flow Forever (repeat chorus) (break 2) Cradle me in the Winter's cold Run through me in the Autumn Gold Scatter me over Kimbell Green Sit with me when your eyes won't dream Copyright © 1999 Jon Charles Fortman (ASCAP) and Kite Creature Music (ASCAP)

Rounders 04:49
So I’ll save this game And by the way I thought I’d stick around and play For the rest of my days ‘Cause I’ve seen Heaven Disguised as a Cathedral Built on a Hallowed Yard ‘86 held the promise Only to break our hearts How’d one moment Take my life in its balance? How’d I fall from so tall? Whoever makes a great might-have-been? ‘51 or ‘55 Either way I knew I was alive If we ever do forget this place Gone’ll be humanity and grace Me and Say Hey Someone said we gotta get to L.A. But I’ll never make that train All the rain comin’ down on Flatbush today So I’ll sing my Cardinal song As the Bishop and the Pope pray And they maybe sing along Then I’ll hold history Next to my heart And then embrace the ones Who told him goodbye Vendar mi alma por amor a mi patria? No, Pero yo para cambie mi tesoro por un dia en la Gran Carpa. “It was an honor to change history with you” Seems I could have lost my way Never thought I’s gonna see the Ballet And the poet out in center stage Just wrote another page for all time Maybe I’ll get on today Maybe you could teach me to play How’d I ever get so far from Home? Can’t bear to walk away alone Copyright © 1998 Jon Charles Fortman (ASCAP) and Kite Creature Music (ASCAP)

Daddy went to heaven When I knew him ‘bout as well as me Said goodbye to Mamma for the moment But I made do camped out in make believe Freddy not to worry can you meet me out in Hollywood? Don’t forget DeDe, Grandpa Hunt and Cleo Lilacs purple daisy field One more ride up on that Ferris Wheel…so high Where’s our Disneyland gone this morn’? Someday maybe we’ll cry more Lordy would you get a load of Little Latin Lancelot Tell’in me with all kind of courage Maybe we had met somewhere So we’ll go to Greenwich You can buy me a dime store ring ‘Cause it’s all I need Cuban Pete And I hope you miss your Sally Sweet Put a butterfly in your hair Shine on Tessie Paint a gray town carrot-pink And yellow, Lilly white Go to sleep on pillows soft Hands are shakin’ Got a sickle cuttin’ into me Don’t care much for a party Where they only serve up Stoli How could Tango Red Ever give me this scare? But I swear I bleed blue as Franklin D. Bless you God be with me Let a tear my Desi fill your eye Sing to me your sweetest “Rock-a-Bye Baby” Now this all elusive bird shall land In our blessed Valley grand Copyright © 2000 Jon Charles Fortman (ASCAP) and Kite Creature Music (ASCAP)

White Horses 07:47
(verse 1) Born in a sun that shone On a vine that lay near Libournais Pour...pour the ‘64 Aged as sweet as your every year (chorus) White horses at full stride Southern beach at low tide We knew Lee as antebellum But the joy became seldom A pilgrimage to heritage A land of lagniappe trois couleur fete A chance to revel in all we stood for And loved... In the wake of our tears We found a way to amend All we could hear Voices of friends we knew dear In all our years For want of one moment long To hold and endear Your heart your love your song (verse 2) Dance on the frozen sand Make a song with your golden hand Play in a summer's day On a diamond throne And from third I'll wave you Home Copyright © 1998 Jon Charles Fortman (ASCAP) and Kite Creature Music (ASCAP)

Verse 1 Hey. I could've swore I'd live today You made sure it'd never be that way Christen me golden You said no. Then again you said maybe I'd love to know what's with your friend J.D. And the armor clad Even Nightingales laughed At Crimea Chorus Roses die Young ones try Solitude For a while I could smile And see you Like Sarah Ballou Verse 2 Well I found God and you had the Holy Ghost And that's all we needed...all we needed to pose In our Camelot I've seen me standin' beside myself I've seen you wishin' you were stealth In the clergy mass Take my hand alas We'll make our hearts home (repeat chorus) In time and song we find Solace for free Verse 3 Say goodbye and there but by the Grace of God Go I...would've never taken odds That you'd never know How I loved you so Now you're so long gone Copyright © 1995 Jon Charles Fortman (ASCAP) and Kite Creature Music (ASCAP)

about

Our debut album was written, produced, arranged, and orchestrated by member Jon Charles Fortman with production assists from Brent Fortman and Dave Fortman. It is an immensely personal tribute to Jon's mother and family which features musical gifts to -- and testaments of -- family members and special subjects of interest that are meaningful to him. Robin Hood Road is a real place. The songs within this album are a journey to this special place where love, open minds, artistic expression, hope, and family reign supreme.
