When my niece, Tori, was a few months old, she “talked” by making bird-like sounds so I called her “baby bird.” This piece was written when she was about 2 years old and effectively serves to capture a time and period of her life that’s now passed – a time when she was fascinated with Teletubbies and being sung to sleep. -Jon Charles Fortman
